Trim, Closets, and More, Oh My!
We went through a bit of a lull where it didn't seem like much was happening with the house. Of course things were being done, but nothing new and big. Last week, though, that lull definitely ended. Suddenly it felt like things just exploded! Since then so much has happened. It feels like we're on fast forward!
We met with our 'trim guy' Beary and mapped out the trim and closets. He has worked super fast and gotten a ton done in a very short amount of time, including the door trim, window trim, closets, entryway trim, window seats, pantry shelves, and baseboards. His work has made it feel like we have a real house!
While Beary has been working the doors were delivered. They haven't all been installed yet but should be within the next few days. We love them! We did discover, though, that it's important to take into account the height of your doors when choosing them. We didn't think about the fact that our main floor doors are taller than all the rest. The height has changed the look of the doors quite a bit, but luckily they still look ok.
This is an awesome secret door in Cole's closet that leads to a secret hideout. Kudos to Nate for thinking of the idea of the door and the hideout, and to Beary for executing it so wonderfully.
The ceilings were finished awhile ago but I never posted a picture. The basement ceilings are the best - I think the design and layers are a really neat touch.
We've also been working with our painter, Craig, to get things rolling. He's already painted the soffits on the exterior of the house and will be starting to paint the interior soon. Cabinets have also been finalized and should be here within a month or so, exterior siding and stone has been ordered, and our beautiful wood flooring will be ordered soon. So exciting!!
