Insulation & Drywall
Nate found AMAZING insulation and drywall guys to do our house. Seriously.  The insulation people are giving us a fantastic price on the best insulation there is, and the house inspector told just a few days ago that the insulation in our house is one of the best insulation jobs he's seen. Sweet!  As for drywall, yea, they just about finished two floors of drywall in two days. Hello.  They're like Jimmy Johns - so fast you'll freak!

We were told that once the drywall was in the house would feel a lot bigger.  That did not make any sense to me - it seemed like it would be the opposite.  It's true though.  The house does feel enclosed now, since the ceilings don't go on forever, but the actual rooms feel gigantic.  I think it's because the spaces are now defined, whereas with just the framing you couldn't always tell, at first glance, where one room ended and another started.

This is the insulation surrounding the theater.  Supposedly it's the best of the best and will really help with soundproofing.  Any guesses as to what it's made of?  Old jeans.  Crazy, I know!
The first, and hopefully only, casualty during the building process.  It was in the master bedroom.  Sad day.
The house is a little boy's dreamland.  Cole loves to explore in and around it.  He'll probably be sad when the construction is finished - it won't be nearly as fun!
My real men.
(Nick and I had to wear the hard hats when we went to look at siding for the outside of the house. I had to loan my to Cole for a cute photo op.  Despite his facial expression, he actually really liked the hat and didn't want to give it back.)

sweetest Theater ever

Nick is super excited about having a theater in our new home.  He cares about the rest of the house, sure, but the theater, it's his baby.  That's why we were SO excited when our family friend from St. George (Phil Crenshaw) offered to deck out our theater for us.

We weren't able to find anyone to give us a great deal in Grand Junction, and Nick was pretty disappointed thinking he'd have to settle for a not-very-great theater.  We called Phil just to get his opinion on things and he became Nick's new hero when he said he'd do our theater for us.  Not only that, but Phil's using his mad skills and his passion or his work to create an OVER the TOP theater.  He's also being way too generous and giving us amazing deals, meaning our theater will be way nicer than anything we should be able to afford.  Phil and his family are just wonderful ,wonderful people, and we can't even begin to thank them for the extreme generosity they've always shown u.

The day we met Phil at the house was a little bit chilly.  Because the meeting took awhile, the kids and I spent half of the meeting in the car.  We went a little stir crazy after awhile and had to find ways to entertain ourselves...

And finally, an article about our builder, Nate, that was published a few weeks ago in a local real estate paper.  The picture that accompanied the article was of our house.
